Not recovering from hip replacement

Replacement 1 year ago. Not believed that I could not lift leg or put on shoes. Demanded mri. Told hip in place. More pt, osteopath, everything. Allergic to steroids.
My good leg went downhill from too much pt. Finally after xray for loose screw and another mri which lit up one surgeon at NYU knew what it was. Had done 6000 Replacements and seen it 10 times. It is called tendon impidgement. Your tendon is too short and caught in implant. Sent me to surgeon who deals with this arthoscope/vs cutting but he only cuts tendon. That means 4 mos on crutches, which is physically impossible since my good leg ruined. Other option is tendon lengthening which allows possible boot and not severing your tendon. In NYC and having trouble finding surgeon who does this procedure. Looking at Mayo. Recovery time if tendon cut is one year. If there is one person who is struggling with same issue: lifting leg, putting on sock, snapping sound, I dont have that, walking up stairs, basic normal things, and I have helped you, that is great. It is called tendon impidgement and trying to find out more about lengthening tendon, not cutting it.

My left hip replacement was five years ago so I don't recall all the details. But I do recall that I had a great surgery with no pain post surgery. Nonetheless, I could not bend down and pull up my socks. So for a while I used a device for that purpose and once I was allowed PT (my hip was press fit so I had to wait for the bones to grow around the implant) a couple of PT sessions with a good therapist solved that.

What I had is very common. But, apparently, it did not work for you.

You mention a loose screw. Hip implants are not normally done with screws. Did you have prior surgery on that hip?

Me exactly. Still cannot put on sock. Xray shows nothing loose screws. Look at tendon impidgement where tendon too short or caught in replacement
