Nighttime Tymlos dosage caused nighttime awakenings
Here is something that happened to me, and I’m sharing in case anyone else has a similar experience.
I’ve been on Tymlos about 17 months now. It has been easy with minimal side effects. I started out dosing in the morning, then a few months ago went to nighttime dosing to make it easier to remember.
Some months ago, I noticed that I was having to get up to pee excessively, like 4 or 5 times in the first part of the night, accompanied by some anxiety about why this was happening.
I asked AI about it, and it said that Tymlos can cause an increase in nighttime urination due to a temporary spike in calcium levels within your blood and urine. The excess calcium forces water into your bladder, creating a larger volume of urine.
Not doing my shot at night has solved this issue. I went back to morning dosing and it is working better for me.
I’m under the care of my endo, who runs tests periodically, so I don’t believe I have a serious calcium issue.
Just wanted to share in case anyone is noticing this issue.

@jasperina, I had the same issue, frequent urination at night after my Tymlos shot. I took a half dose for 2 1/4 years and never had a good night's sleep. I couldn't take the Tymlos during the day due to side effects. Now that I have been off it, I am sleeping 7 -8 hours straight! I am hoping to hold in gains with a 25 mcg bioidentical estrogen patch.
