Nicotine Additction

Posted by Kitra @kitra, May 17, 2012

I had half of my left lung removed less than 2 months ago. Naturally had to quit smoking BUT I am having such a hard time giving up the nicotine addiction. I am using a nicatrol inhaler which now I am addicted to that. Anyone got any answers?

Hello,
I’m sorry for your health problems. Try acupuncture, chewing sugarless gum, yoga, meditation or other holistic methods.
I smoke and your discussion scares me.

Yes I know how you feel – I was a dedicated smoker for many years. I do not wish anyone to go through this very painful surgery that I recently went through. It has been 3 months now since I have had a cigarette – Still using the nicatrol inhaler but am cutting back – but it is very hard as I find the better I am feeling the more the urge to smoke again but I am one of those that cannot have just one cigarette or I will be a pack a day smoker again. Thanks for the friend request. Will be good to keep in touch with you here.

Hi kitra, Sorry that youv’e been so unwell and are having such a hard time of things. I was a pack a day smoker myself, gave up when I became pregnant with my son. Husband still smokes with borderline diabetes. So wish he would stop. Will get him to read your post Take care Piglit

The nicatrol inhaler is by prescription from a doctor.

If it’s prescribed you’re doing better than a lot of us because the inhaler doesn’t have all the extra chemicals and poisons.
