New Meds for COPD
I was just prescribed Formoterol and Budesonide and Outovare. Has anyone used these before and results?
Thank you

Ohtuvayre is a medication nebulizer on its own! What’s the brand medication your using?
All three are nebulizer treatments.
@tia8marie other than Ohtuvayre what the other brand named nebulizers
I use budesonide formoterol (generic Symbicort) in inhaler form, 2X/day. I also use Incruse Ellipta, an inhaler, 1X/day. For awhile, I used Ohtuvayre nebulizer because the inhalers weren't not doing much. I used Ohtuvayre for two months and had absolutely no benefit from it, at which point, my doctor agreed I should discontinue it. Unfortunately, one never know what will make a difference with these COPD meds. It's all trial and error. The research is terrible, except for those with asthma. The rest of the "COPD" umbrella conditions, drug efficacy seems to be case-by-case. None of them have done much for me and I've tried many of them over the years.

1 ReactionI use Breztri which has 3 medications in one, 2 are ones that you mention. It is my maintenance inhaler that I use twice a day.
Ohtuvayre I use with a nebulizer also twice a day.
I have nothing but positive to say about both.
Everyone reacts differently to the medications so my only recommendation is try to patient when starting something new. Sometimes it can take a bit before you see any positive change.
Good luck!

2 Reactions@tjphillipp Formoyetol and Budesonide
@tia8marie oops! Formoterol
Fumarate!!
Hi I use all three daily.I feel only the budesonide helps my breathing. I am waiting for VA approval for Nucala. It's different for everybody and you feel like a test subject for the drug companies but it's better than nothing.
I take Albuterol via nebulizer. Maybe 4xs a day depending how I feel. OtuVarye (sp?) via it's own nebulizer in the morning and before bed. Trelegy, powdered inhaler 1x in the morning.
Azithromycin on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 500 mg. Rescue inhalers when I'm out.
Portable nebulizer for Albuterol.
5 months ago after unknowingly that I had pneumonia ( I was diagnosed 6 or 7 yrs ago with no symptoms. I thought it was nothing ) Rescue squad ...Ambulance - Like a movie... At the time I though I was about to die- for real!! Hospitalized for a week. Since then. Some flareups treated with various amounts of Prednisone. Every time I go off the steroid I get sick and tight chested. Weak. And for sure some anxiety. I'm dealing with 2 pulmonologists at the moment. About to stay with the one that's connected with my maid medical doctors. But they are reluctant to prescribe the predisone. I know there are risks. I feel fine on 5 mgs a day. I need to breath and it'svery difficult to be understood about this. Simple- no prednisone? I get sick. Prednisone - and everything else- I'm ok!! I don;t know if Utuvayre helps or not. I know albuterol does and prednisone really helps!!
@beflat10r Ohtuvayre is supposed to stop exacerbations is what I find very helpful about it!!
