Nervous System Dysregulation
I hope my nervous system will heal. I just don’t know when. I had an anaphylactic event in April this year, had a panic attack and epinephrine shot on top of that. Then was prescribed a round of steroids, which also caused multiple panic attacks. On June 1st I was put on an SSRI and a daily benzodiazepine. The SSRI caused severe activation syndrome, so I was immediately put on another SSRI (Prozac) which intensified the anxiety and panic attacks. I stopped the SSRI 24 days ago, after 78 total days of use. I’m still on the daily benzodiazepine, because it’s the only relief I get.
I wake up shaking, vibrate all day, have thoughts that I’ll never recover. I still have anxiety, even with the benzodiazepine. I feel like I’m broken. I so badly just want to be normal again. No vibrating, no shaking, normal sleep, and most of all, I don’t want to be on benzodiazepines just to survive. My psychiatrist can’t give me an answer. All of my blood work, vitamins, and hormones are relatively normal, with the exception of high Cortisol levels, and low testosterone.
Will this nightmare ever end?
The only thing I can figure is that the adrenaline shot wile having a panic attack started the mess. The steroid pills intensified it, then my body being subjected to 78 days of intense SSRI activation has just broken me. After 24 days, I figured if I was going to see improvement I would by now. The only thing that has improved is my sleep. Went from 5 hours to 7 hours, but it’s still miserable sleep.

My you had a little of it all going on. I can only tell you about my own experience with the anaphylactic shock i went through. Months after my initial hospitalization and being given a counter shot bring me back i asked my doctor what the found out about my attack? she said she had to be honest and told me they don't have a clue, it could have been many things. but to make a long story short. Mine took me 6 months before multitasking could be accomplished, another 3 months to finally see light at the end of the tunnel. All in all i hate to say it but that depends on your own needs. what i can say is your brain and system can accomplish amazing things on its own. You have to have patience and try to think of things that make your days better. Have a blessed day. Hope i helped some.

@randallshields56 hi there! Thank you for the reply! My biggest issue right now is the shaking, body vibrations, and anxiety.
I hope and pray that my nervous system will eventually recover.
I hope you were able to make a full recovery, and I hope you are doing amazing today! Thank you so much for your response!
I have been dealing with this for so many year now (10 +). I think that it could be related to chronic allergies. I have other issues with my brain and heart but the buzzing, heart racing, anxiety and sleeplessness is at a peak and that is the only thing I can tie it to. I can tell you that steroids help temporarily but then there is a rebound effect that makes it worse. I'm hoping others share answers here. Best of luck to you.
Thank you. Please keep me posted on your progress and yes after many many
months i am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Have a
blessed day.
