Need help! Denied as self payer because I have Medicare Advantage Plan

Does anyone know how I can get into Mayo Clinic MN since I have a Medicare Advantage Plan? I have been denied twice, both through doctor referral. The second time I was told that Mayo does not accept any patients with supplementary Medicare plans even if they are willing to self pay. How is that right!? What does it matter if my insurance won’t cover their facility if I am willing to give them cash for their services? Just leave my insurance out of it. I have been saving up for a long time knowing that my insurance will not help me. All of my current doctors have given up finding any answers for my varied symptoms and every single one of them want me to go to Mayo. Can someone Please help me! My symptoms are getting much worse and I have little quality of life now. Being seen by multiple specialists in a big hospital like Mayo may be my last chance for finding a diagnosis.

@catwhisperer, I can hear your frustration and desperation. Because Mayo Clinic has more requests for appointments than available openings, many factors are taken into consideration.

Thanks for the recommendations, Colleen. I told the woman who called me from the referrals department that I was willing to self pay but she told me that because of my insurance, the answer was a flat out no. I don’t think there was any confusion, but I can check out those leads on the off chance they might get me closer to my goal.
