My son suffered for months with diarrea and vomitting. The doctors never performed a ct scan until it was too late. We were told he was full of Crohns and need surgery. When she went in she found that this appendix was “obliterated” and there was a grapefruit mass as hard as cement where his appendix was. She said she did not see the Crohn’s only damage from it. He currently has an illeostomy bag. They saved enough of his colon so that he can have it reversed some day. Well it’s been 5 years and he has been doing okay. He is having trouble playing sports, no energy at all struggling to get through college. Recently had absess under his rib near the surface which they drained. They tried to clear the infection over a six month period of time. He was put on oxycodone at least 6 pills a day for six months. During this time they put him on Humira as abdominal fistuals had formed. I was considering an attorney given the fact he put him on Humira with an obvious infection. The poor kid had to have his illeostomy site moved to the opposite side. It took them several days to clear the infection before the surgery. I know in my heart something is not right. Could there still be puss pockets in side him after all these years. He never had fever for chills even from the beginning of all of this.
