My son has been having pain after urniation for 5 years

Hello. I am new to this community and hoping I can find some answers here where doctors have been unable to help. My son is 9 years old. He was born with an enlarged kidney and place on antibiotics the day he was born. He saw a pediatric urologist for the first year of his life. They performed a VCUG when he was a year old and proclaimed that everything looked good and he was okay. At approximately 4 /12 years old, we received a call from his pre-school given our son was doubled over in pain (we could hear him wailing in the background). He continues to have intense to moderate pain after urinating since then. It is not consistent (e.g., sometimes it happens in the morning, other times at night) but is always after urinating. He has never had a Urinary Tract Infection (I have brought him in multiple times per year over the last 4 years). He has had renal ultrasounds and just had another VCUG today -- all which show everything is normal. Yet he continues to have this pain. Any and all ideas are so appreciated! My husband and I do not know what to do at this point!

Oh I also wanted to mention that this doesn't happen every day. Sometimes he'll go for a week without any pain and then it just shows up. Other weeks he'll have it 3-4 times in a week. He rarely has it happen twice in one day either.

I have a similar condition and I've had it for 3 years now. Im here to find answers as well. The pain fluctuates although its almost every time I go that I have it now. A sharp pain, dull ache and like tonight, a drop to my kneespain. It's frustrating! I wonder if I have a leak inside? That's what it feels like to me. If you find anything out please let me know. Best, Yjohnson
