My son began treatment for epilepsy after his first grand mal seizure

Posted by @sarab in Epilepsy & Seizures, May 6, 2014

My son (30 yoa) began treatment in 2011 for epilepsy after his first grand mal seizure. No family history. No head injury. LP in 2011 was normal. Most recent MRI and EKG in 02/2014 show no seizure activity in the brain but lesions. A LP showed t0 Oligoclonal bands in his CSF but none in serum. His neurologist will not commit to MS but is going to ask Dr. Kantor, Jacksonville to review findings. Does Mayo in Jacksonville treat MS? What should we do next?

Hi @sarab. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Here is a link to the Neurology department at Mayo Clinic: http://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/neurology/doctors/by-location-specialty. It lists doctors by specialty. I hope this helps.
