My mom is 61 and has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. The fact that most that are diagnosed with this have no family history of dementia is amazing. I have worked in long term care over 12 years and the symptoms and behaviors my mom have exhibited are different that many others I have seen. This has been a terrible reality to face. The best advice I have received and try to adhere to is the acceptance of this is where we are now and enjoy it while you can. I'm trying to take each day as it comes and be grateful for it, because I know all too soon she will slip away a bit more. I wish the best of luck, I can certainly relate to what you are dealing with. @mandyjo
