My husband was diagnosed with copd two months ago but has had breathing difficulties for the past 8 years. Told his cardiologist but tests showed no connection to heart. He is on a steroid inhaler twice a day but still cannot climb stairs without getting winded. Any activity causes shortness of breath. Went to emergency room at va and they said top potions of both lungs are scarred and look like bare tree branches. Also saw two white spots they aren't going to worry about. He has never been a smoker or exposed to asbestos but did serve in vietnam for 10 months in danang where agent orange was heavily sprayed. Appt now set at mayo for February. Any tips on what appt will entail?
