My healthy, athletic 13yo. daughter complained about food being caught in her throat. Dr. prescribed Zantac. The next week she was vomiting with a severe headache. Dr. said it was a virus, give her tylenol and send her to bed. Three days later she was so week on her right side (arm and leg) that she couldnt walk without falling or hold onto things. At the emergency room they found masses in her brain. After alot of mris and cts they found a fistula in her esoughus and a mass in her spleen. They put her on a feeding tube for three weeks for the fistula, Drained the mass in her spleen and the two in her brain. She is on Merepenum and Itraconazole. But after a month in the hospital and two weeks at home she is still ill and the masses are still there although a little smaller. Can anyone give me an idea what this is? They have alot of guesses but no difinitive answer.
