MSSA

Posted by @amarie in Infectious Diseases, Dec 10, 2012

My husband is going into the hospital in 2 days for spine surgery. The pre-op nurse just phoned to say they discovered MSSA in his nostril swab and that he's to take nasal meds and wash with Hippa cleanse for these 2 days. Will this eliminate the MSSA in such a short time? I'm out of my mind with worry about this bacterial infection. Should he postpone the operation?

Yes! My wife had MRSA and he don't want it. Let him test clean first.

Found that some people can be carriers and never have effects, but being he is having operation the MRSA could move to his flesh. Took wife a year to get over this on IV treatment and then surgery to if the hole MRSA caused by eating away her flesh. Don't let them do it be for MRSA is cleared up.
