I have had MVP since the late ’70’s. NO, coughing is NOT normally associated with this condition. The underlying cause of your cough could possibly be a mild form of exercise induced asthma or something similar. report this symptom to your doc, as it is not a usual symptom.

I have severe MVP and cardiomyopathy. Working through tests now to be put on heart transplant list. Last summer I was hospitalized with congestive heart failure. In my experience, coughing was most definitely a symptom!
