Metastatic breast cancer: Looking for information and support

Hi, My name is Barbra and I'm 67 and got diagnosed with Metastatic breast cancer. It's in my spine, ribs and hip. Also a small nodule in my lower right lung. I've been on hormonal treatment for 4 month now. Looking for information and support.

Hi Barbara, I am stage 4 breast cancer with spine, rib, and lung involvement. Sounds like we are in the same boat. They want me to take Kisquli and anastrozole. What are you taking? How are you tolerating it? I am thinking of just doing Kisqali. Praying your cancer cocktail is easy on you. 🙏🏻

Hi Jan, I've been on Kasquli and Femara for almost 4 months now. I also have a spot on my lower right lung. My PET scan 2 weeks ago showed a significant reduction in size of cancer in my bones but a slight increase in my lung.
Initially I was very tired and aching in my joints, along with diarrhea and hair loss and no appetite. Now I feel much better but still losing hair, no appetite and diarrhea and constipation. Thank you for your prayers. I believe they work! I will pray for you as well. I'm 67, almost 68 and my original breast cancer was 14 years ago.

Hi ladies, I also on Kisqali together with fulvestrant injections. It makes me feel really awful and incapacitating.
I have breast cancer spread to the skin and possibly bone?? My immunity went down on 600mg
giving me shingles, so now on 400 mg but still feel awful. With breathlessness , nausea,, soreness on the skin on my chest making it feel like a tight band around me all the time. I am wondering if my quality of life is going to return or not??
Wishing you all the best.

Ginny, so sorry to hear you're struggling with the side effects of treatment. I will keep you in my prayers.

@janfisher
Jan, Every 3 months I have an infusion of sodium chloride to help build strength in my bones. It takes about 15 minutes

Thanks Barb. I am 76 and quality of life means everything to me. I never had cancer before this. Since I have stage 4, there is no need for surgery or chemo or radiation. In November it will be a year since the discovery of the lump. I have a daughter wedding in June so I would like to make it so I figure I will try the kasqali. They say it will halt the progression of the disease. It is apparent that all of our stories are different but we are here to help each other with encouragement and love. Praying you continue to wade through this season with that positive attitude!

I understand that everyone reacts to meds differently but my treatment of Kasquali and Femara has reduced my lesions by half in just 3 months. It took about 6 weeks for my body to adjust to the meds and get to a point where the side effects were manageable and I felt more like myself. With your daughter's wedding in June, you might want to try it at least for 2 months before you make a decision to continue or not. I will pray that you're able to attend your daughter's wedding next June!
