Hey @whiteflag. I do not have a meningioma, but have a different kind of lesion in my head. In researching last year I found a guys story who helped. Check out Lake Fork Guy on YouTube. He's a professional fisherman who had a meningioma a few years back. He documented his journey pretty well, maybe it will be helpful for you? In documenting, he's very honest which i liked.

Anyway, I hope you have found the answers you need in order to move ahead with the next step of your journey and feeling better.

Sending all good wishes your way.

I had menginoma tumor for many years with no growth just routine MRIs which I got very lax in doing. 13 years after being diagnosed my family doctor insisted I have an MRI. When I did I was diagnosed with amyloid angioplasty in addition to my tumor. Still no symptoms. I went to Mayo Clinic Rochester for a second opinion. They were unable to confirm the amyloid angioplasty but said my tumor had grown. Per their recommendation I had a Gamma knife procedure to try to slow ir stop the growth. Unfortunately it didn't help and the tumor continued to grow rapidly which caused me to have seizures and 2 major strokes resulting in emergency surgery. The surgery itself was not painful. I did have to have physical and occupational therapy on my left side which was affected. It has been 4 years and I still have routine MRIs to make sure there has been no regrowth.
I pray that your surgery is successful

In November I went to the ED due to shortness of breath. When asked if I had any other symptoms, I said that my eyes hurt and I have had headaches every day for a while. Well, my oxygen was perfect, however, after a head work up a 2.5x2.5 cm mass was found on my left lobe. An hour later I had an MRI that confirmed it to be a benign meningioma, Thank God!! I also have Pseudotumor Cerebri (I.I.H.) and was treated as a teenager after having insane headaches, a stiff neck that did not allow me to move and full loss of vision in my right eye. A lumbar puncture (spinal tap) was done relieving my neck and headaches; however, it took years for my vision to come back after I was told that it most likely would not. I'm very lucky!! Now, the Pseudotumor Cerebri is active again and a I had a spinal tap a few weeks ago... it helped my eye and head pressure, so now we are meeting in 9 days to schedule surgery to remove my meningioma within the next few weeks. I'm really scared and don't know what to expect after surgery, not knowing how my life will change and how my family will have to worry as they are now... every day, all day!! I hope all works out for you on your journey and your recovery is fast and easy. Sending blessings and hugs your way.
