Mayo research survey: Have you delayed asking your doctor a question?
Have you ever waited until the end of your doctor’s visit to ask important questions or talk about an important topic?
Mayo Clinic researchers want to hear from you to learn more about your experiences and why you waited until the end of your visit to ask your doctor important questions. This is sometimes called a doorknob disclosure. A doorknob disclosure happens when patients wait until the end of their doctor’s visit to ask their doctor important questions or to bring up important topics.
This research project aims to understand why doorknob disclosures happen and how they might be connected to patients’ comfortability with communicating with their doctors and how trustworthy they find their doctors.
You can take part in the survey if you:
- are 18 years of age or older,
- may have experienced waiting to ask important questions until the end of the visit or waiting to bring up important topics until the end of the visit.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
The survey is online and your answers remain anonymous. Mayo Clinic is committed to respecting and honoring the confidentiality and privacy of everyone who takes part in this research.
