Lyme Disease

Posted by sundance6 @sundance6, Dec 30, 2018

I am new to this group. I have been trying to get a diagnosis for Lyme Disease for the last six months from my doctors in my area. Since I live in the desert they say there is no way I could have it! Yet all the research I have done says you could have been infecteded many years ago and because of stress or other things it can finally apperer. It started six months ago with a sever headache then I slept for 36 of 48 hours. Had the stiff neck, joint pain, fatigue and all of the rest of the symptoms. One last symptom that was strange that I just finally found in an on line paper that said one of th symptoms was Jaw Pain or toothaches that are not related to actual tooth decay or infection. I just had a total X-Ray done by my dentist two weeks ago and there is nothing there!
I guess waht I am asking is for Help! My medical provider in my area has done every test they can on every part of my body! For thousands of Dollars! And have yet to find anything! They refuse to even consider Lyme Disease or West Nile. Yes I did have the Blood test, but it was after I had been on to regimines of Dococyclines.
Could someone please give me some help!
Friends in other states can't believe the medical care I have gotten!!

So many Doctors have no idea of this disease, mine is one of them. They try to treat a test instead of a diagnosis and treatment of the diagnosis. Better yet, if they even thinnk it could be Lyme they shhould treat it right away and rule it out. I know they are worried about over use of antibiotics but the test for Llyme are scethy at best. The elsa and WB are 50 50. Many have negative result but find lime much later. My Doctor was one who now a year later tells me she does not know much about Lyme. Really, a year and you just now admit you dont have knowlege of it so you did not treat it. Further more the evidence of the rash is proof enough to treat for it. The only reason she is treating me know is because I embarrased her and researchrd more than her. I hope the antibiotics work and we can move forward and my conditions are not permanent. Get treated and rule it out, pretty cheap medice to ensure its not Lyme.

tdemaria, how so TRUE you are!! Our medical profession is so Blind to Lyme. The last person I saw two weeks ago was a Nurse Practioner in Nurology. When I brought up Lyme she laughed in my face and said that was a fad several years ago. Yet she could not come up with any explanation as to why I was having the symptoms I was having. After the MRI she came bace with some BS about my headaches being caused by High Blood Presure and other things, some being old age. In followup she would not get on the phone and explain anything of the results to me. Just made her nurse who wrote down her explanation and repeated it to me.
At this poin after Six months of this I have No Idea of what I have!! NOR DOES ANY ONE ELSE! All of my hours of research, like many of yours, point to about four different things! Lyme, West Nile, Chronic Fatigue or Fibramyalga! We all seem to have bits and or pieces. It just gets really old that they can ID some one in 10 million thing that someone my have but they really after a certain time can't ID Lyme or West Nile.
On a mose Positive note today. This is the first day in two weeks where I felt like myself. I don't know if it is just Luck or if I may have found something. Six Years ago I came down with Adult Whooping Cough. This was before they didn't realize that our vacine we recived as children had worn off. I went to my doctor. Went through all sorts of drugs and tests. Researched it. Finally found one article by the MAyo Clinic. Ssid what it was. I finally trie Reshi My Community Immune Support. It was gone in a week I started last week. I feel Great today will keep you posted. SORRY FOR GOING ON, I JUST FEEL GOOD FOR A CHANGE!! SUNDANCE

@sundance6 Why cant they find it in the blood work they do maybe she didn't order the right test . I think it is heterophile test spelling maybe wrong but back in the 60.s outside of the rash I had and symptoms of swollen glands she new right away . Strange maybe the Dr,s that are younger don't have the teaching in disease,s they did way back in time. ?

Dr. is older. It's just that the group which also runs the local hospital which also is the insurance provider makes the $$ off of the tests. He admitted to me one day. Unless something is a slam dunk. They won't say what it is. The problem is when they finally did the blood test I had already been on a Zip pack plus a 21 day regimine of docyoclcyloline which negates and postive readings of Lyme the same with West Nile

@sundance6 I just read something interesting about Reshi mushroom that it is to be very healing? Glad you feel better I may try it for my problems and I did have EBV from what I understand this stays on your system like Herpes Simplex

There are several varities.Since the one for the immune system is what I am looking to work on I thought I would start there. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow so I will see also what he says I'll also tell him what I think. Still rest is the main healer. Have a Good Day! Stay Weel!

Something so simple if treated early…Dr are afraid of antibiotics now due to resistance bacteria. Treat symptoms not a test. Testing is not accurate.
