Los Angeles area specialist in treating osteoporosis with Forteo

Late 60s male in otherwise good health just received osteoporosis diagnosis with one hip at -3.0. GP has ordered bloodwork to look into causal factors and wants me to start forteo soon. GP has recommended several specialists to prescribe and work with but earliest appointment is 6+ months. Looking for other recommendations of local specialist who has worked with patients taking forteo.

From what I hear, 6+ months to see an endocrinologist is not unusual. I hunted in the Seattle area for one who specializes in bone health (instead of just diabetes). The clinic where she practices told me that it takes 10 to 12 weeks to evaluate a referral to see if they will allow you to make an appointment 6+ months from then 😀
