Guidance to resolve Post Operative Urinary Retention?
Am 12 weeks post surgery to correct pelvic prolapse with a sling, cystocele, rectocele, enterocele. Attempt voiding, then use straight line cath to empty bladder. Not seeing any significant changes. No guidance from health care providers on voiding schedule or ways to heal. Is there hope for recovery? I got a blood clot after surgery and want to avoid further surgery if possible.

@martha26, 12 weeks is a long time to struggle with something like this. Was there nothing helpful in your discharge papers to guide you? Have you had a post surgical follow up appointment yet with the surgeon or other provider? I would write down all your questions and concerns and schedule an appointment. Is is possible the usual after care protocol got sidetracked because of the blood clot you experienced? That is a high priority thing to deal with post surgery.
