just read some re; staph inf. i had a horrible experience withcelluitis/staph. had spinal fusion with4 screws and rod.
would you believe i was discharged next morning! well a day after i was home (ha, with a walker) my one leg became twice size and very red then thenext leg same. i was in enough pain with the spine surgery and then in two days had a horrible condition in both lower legs and feet, then the blistering started, tiny bubbles and PAINFUL. went to dr. he didn't haqve a clue but readmitted me with elevation of legs and a massive dose of diuretics iv. i asked to be on an antibio, nope. well admitted twice more, potassium dropped and sodium due to iv diuretics. ended up going back in and suffering from back surgery. after 7 weeks i finsally was given a rx of Bactrime ant, in a week my legs looked almost normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! took 7 months for my back to feel almost normal, couldn't believe dr.'s won't listen, oh yes i also went to er once inbetwen being admitted. husband was going nuttywith me and no dr caught it till i pleded for antibiodic. i did come out of surgery with a small cut on my leg, uh-huh!!!! wouldn't wish that whole painful, scary experience on the devil! sincerely. then i read, once you've had staph easier to get again, ghez what a curse!
