just finishing second full course of Evenity
So I’ve posted here before. I’m close to finished second round. I did just check CTX and it was 455 and P1NP 39.
going to gyn doc to discuss HRT to help this nearly 70 year old maintain gains. Interim DXA showed. spine improved again to -1.4 but FN still -3.0. Will have another DXA in mid October and then need to decide Reclast vs Prolia👎
Endo leaving so I will have a new one
Lifting regularly with Brick House bones level 3 and just started some jumping with Osteo Gains

In 2022 Spine was -3.1 and hip -3.3. Previous wrist fractures secondary to hard falls. This is what got me in evenity in the first place. I did not have an initial CTX or PINP but am doing them now quarterly. Highest P1NP was 44 3 months ago and CTX was 455. After initial evenity course first year if alendronate held CTX around 300 but after the second year on alendronate went up to 500 and Dexa showed substantial decrease so another year of Evenity. I have 2 more months then another DEXA and I’m assuming Reclast but going to investigate HRT today. I’m 2 months away from 70 so nearly 20 years post menopause

I’m interested in hearing about doing another round of Evenity - did not know that it had been approved for a second year.
Is there info you can provide - I’ve been saying if Evenity was made available for a second year, I might just give it a go.

Sadly, I am unable to do that (don't know why it won't work, old brain?). The article specifically states that Evenity has NOT been approved for more than one year. I was responding to a previous post by @hikernurse who stated they were finishing their second year of Evenity.
Can anyone give a definitive answer to this: Can Evenity be prescribed for more than one year (12/24 doses) and, if so, is there any benefit in doing that?
Sorry if I caused anyone confusion . . . wait . . . I'm the one who's confused!

1 Reactionhikernurse, are you considering HRT as part of the antiresorptive phase after Evenity, or are you considering using it alone?
From what I've read in the literature and from my own experience, estrogen's effect on bone resorption (as indicated per CTX) develops over first several months rather than immediately reaching its full effect. Since you have about 2-3 months left before you'll need to transition from Evenity, using HRT as the sole antiresorptive seems like the timing could be fairly tight, particularly if your CTX rebounds in the first few months after Evenity, as suggested by the manufacturer. Of course, im sure this will depend on what your endo thinks is an appropriate CTX target during maintenance and how they think about the transition.
