just beginning...breast cancer

Posted by ccabek @ccabek, Aug 1, 2012

I have been through mammo, ultrasound, biopsy, MRI now they want more ultra sound and maybe more biopsy.
The breast surgeon said it was very small and early. But with all this other stuff going on I am really scared and don’t know how much more to expect.

Anyone else been through this?

Hi there,
I just want to wish you love and luck. My daughter got a call from her Dr yesterday who wants her to come in for BIOPSY NUMBER 3!!–even though the others turned out ok… so it really upset her… but like she said (she was handling it better than ME!) yesterday, we have to Let The Fear Go and really trust and believe that the very best will happen.
I have a feeling that you are going to come through this with flying colors!! And, if it turns out that THIS biopsy shows cancer, my daughter will come through it well, too! We can all be thankful it was caught early.
Sending you a big hug and knowing you will be doing just fine!

I would like to welcome you too. My friend had early stage breast cancer and has made a full recovery and has been fine for many years know. Not all biopsies are cancerous many are benign so to you ccabek and my dear friend Betty stay with the positivity and I’m sure all will be okay. I can fully understand the feelings of fear. This is just not knowing the unknown. I send hugs to both of you and you are

are in my thoughts. Always here anytime if you need me. Piglit

Yes, I just went through all that plus surgery. mine was small too. It was called invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 2,forming a 1.2cm mass. Everything went great! Rochester, MN did awesome! No cancer in the nodes! Now I am trying to decide if I want Proton Radiation or nothing at all. The Proton radiation would be 3 days in a row! Mine was cancer, Some are not! The surgery was not that bad. Doctor Jane Hieken performed the surgery. She’s wonderful!!

Have you had Oconotype or the other “typing” of your tumor……(escapes me right now the name)…to help you decide which direction to go. Made my decision making quite clear. Had same cancer and stage and over 1.5 cm. Best wishes in your decision(s).oops…first time posting and did not use reply…..sorry….

Been thru it all , finished surgery, treatment, etc.. Once its over you look back and realize it was not so bad or scary. You can do it as so many others have.
Its a dark tunnel you are going thru, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. And catching it early is the best and easiest. You will be OK and will be around for the next 100 years !
