I've had acid reflux since my forties. Eating fried foods was the thing that triggered an attack. Tried several doctors and meds and finally found a gastrointerologist who found that my problem was my live. I had non alcoholic liver disease. I was told by a nurse that taking antibiotics for a long time for bladder problems caused my liver problems. I don't know if that is related or not. I do know that I don't overeat. If I am hungary later I eat a little more. I do not use anything but olive oil and I never fry anything. I am doing much better now. @artist28374

I was told in 2000 that i had NASH and would need a new liver in 5 to 10 yrs, since then i was DX with Chronic pancreatitis and Barretts. My problems also started with fried foods or even butter on bread. I have had acid reflux as long as i can rememeber. Now I have had to remove red meat from diet, stay under 30 gr of fat a day and limit the amount of protein i eats as well or suffer an acute attack. I too was on antibiotics for a long time after i broke my neck in 1998. anyway, hope you feel better soon.
