Is this nerve damage following my 3rd fusion surgery?
In March 2025 I had my 3rd back surgery in less than one year -
I now am having swelling, numbness and pain in my (R) butt. Initially I was told, based on the location of the pain, that it was my SI Joint causing this pain, however after a steroid injection with no relief, the Pain Management physician said no, it is not my SI joint. I just know that I am still swollen, numb and having pain in my (R) butt. Does anyone have a thought here on what could this be from?

Did you have bone taken from your hip for a fusion. Nerve damage (temporary or permanent) can be a complication of that procedure

I have had 2 fusion surgeries for cervical spine and 1 fusion surgery for my lumbar spine.
If I were you, I would push for a MRI of your lumbar spine and pelvis/hips to see what may be compressing a nerve/blood vessel causing your symptoms and if there is any soft tissue damage or injury. My hip/pelvis MRI revealed bilateral gluteal tendinopathy and bilateral high grade partial hamstring tears I had no idea I had but I definitely had lots of pain/weakness/numbness.
