Is there anyone treated with triple positive APS and its complications

I've am recurrent DVT patient and taking warfarin for the past 15 years. About two months ago, my platelets dropped to extremely low level and have stopped warfarin. Since then, I've hospitalized twice with suspected multifocal/organized pneumonia and taking various medications to date. My platelets count could not stabilize yet and I'm wondering how similar patients are managing this complex situation.

During the COVID-19 Delta wave, I was diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) after developing a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I was subsequently prescribed Xarelto (rivaroxaban), an anticoagulant medication. At around the same time, I was also diagnosed with type 2 von Willebrand disease (vWD).

Both Xarelto (rivaroxaban) and warfarin are prescription anticoagulants (blood thinners), but there are important differences between them. Xarelto generally does not require routine blood testing or strict dietary restrictions, whereas warfarin requires regular INR monitoring and careful management of vitamin K intake to keep it relatively consistent.

@biset Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! This forum is for people to ask questions about their health and to get answers from those who have had a similar problem. There are no doctors here so we can’t explain lab results or diagnose problems. But, this is a great site with former patients helping current patients!

@becsbuddy Thank you for the welcome. Yes. I understand. I just want to know how patients with similar condition managed the disease.

Ask for an immunology consult. Sometimes rheumatologist illnesses deplete the immune system leading to low blood products, white, red, platelet products..
