Inpatient Visitors

Posted by teach7 @teach7, Nov 10, 2018

I am having surgery next week at the Rochester location (Methodist). I will be admitted for at least one night. What are the rules for visitors and people staying with me in the room? Our home hospital has always let both my husband and my son (currently 5 months) stay in the room with me, but I can’t find information about that (or much at all for overnight patients) on the Mayo website. Does anyone know the expectations for visitors? Thanks!

teach7, Welcome to Connect. Here is the contact information that I have found for the Methodist Hospital.
I suggest that you call the general number where you can talk to a person who can either answer your question, or direct you to someone who can.
Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus
General number 507-266-7890

Also, if I were you, I would also talk to your surgeon because he/she might have some thoughts about it.
I hope your surgery and recovery goes smoothly. Hugs to the baby.
