1 ReactionHi, I'm 2 years post liver transplant. About 4 months after my transplant I developed a weird lump like feeling on my right side right above my scar line. Since then, I have done various Physical Therapy sessions, exercise routines and even acupuncture. I have also had nerve blocks which have lasted a few days. I have had multiple CT scans and MRI's, but the test do not show what I'm feeling. I have been working with a pain management professional, but still have not found a solution for the pain & discomfort. My hepatology team recently suggested that I see a plastic surgeon to determine if perhaps it is some type of scar along my abdominal wall that is not visible on the various tests that I have had. The lump is not noticable, but you can feel it. So I was reaching out to see if anyone else experienced this situation.

The thought of going thru those doors that say surgery..is a nino for me not after what I went thru.2 months in hospital from liver transplant and 8 days from hernia. From all that developed Celtic disease from all those surgeries and I am sure this new one has to do with the immunesurpresnt drugs and a weak stomach muscles.i suffered depression after liver surgery and suicide thoughts after i came home from hospital with oxygen .mouth soars for 23 days duto meds liver teams all over need to do more research of hiw msny others are experiencing

2 ReactionsHi Rosemary thank you,as always for that great information regarding hernias
It seems for the first hernia after transplant it is connected with autoimmune drugs we take. The second was the study tried to connect it with the type
of cut the surgeon makes. But in my case since this is my second one I believe is just due to still taking the tacrolimus and week stomach walls. The report did say if a mesh was implanted then that is cause for a low recurrance.well popo
on that!! I will ask my liver team but my liver Dr. know she is the one who told me. Anyway as always thank you and the best of health to u...Love Jackie
Thank you Rosemary! That was so kind of you to remember.

1 Reaction@janeent, I hope your appointment goes well next week 🤍
The first was in Feb 2022. The recent scan was 2 weeks ago. I see the general surgeons April 13th.
@janeent, that sounds terribly uncomfortable and it must be frustrating to be left wondering about any medical response.
How long ago was this CT performed? Did you have a follow-up conversation with the doctor who ordered the scan?
