In April I was diagnosed with connective tissue disease. The doctor put me on prednisone, folic acid, and hydroxychloroquine. Although my condition improved I was still quite ill and all bloodwork was still coming back elevated so I was taken off the prednisone and put on methotrexate. I saw the doctor today and I got the impression that I should be better now but I am not.I still have joint pain, though no swelling, lethargy, headaches, sweating, shortness of breath and muscle pain, primarily in the neck, which he says is not part of the disease. When I asked about my bloodwork he said that it was the same except my SED rate was lower. I guess my question is, "does it ever get better than this?" I'm really concerned about returning to teaching in the fall; last year was really rough. I welcome any suggestions.
