If have to miss regularly-scheduled monthly Evenity injection

Because of weather, if hubby can't make it to his (I think) 9th Evenity appointment Tuesday, what happens? Winter snowstorm is predicted, and I'm not sure we are going to be able get him there safely . He's 84, frail, and on oxygen.

@grrranny: Regarding 9th Evenity injections given on scheduled day -
If you explain how your frail husband cannot keep Dr. office appointment due to weather; perhaps the Dr. would allow you to pick up the refrigerated box of filled syringes from his office and you can do the injection at home. (I have self-injected my 6 Evenity injections without problem and mfg instruction is in the box).
I would be happy to share my injection ritual with you if you desire.

@grrranny The weather problem happened to me when I was on the monthly injections of Evenity. When I called the infusion center to ask about re-scheduling they told me that I had a few days window on either side of the appointment date. So, when weather interfered I was able to re-schedule to two days later.

I suggest you call and ask the center where he gets the injections if you can bring him today or after the winter storm. You can also call or message your husband's doctor on your patient portal and ask if it is OK to reschedule your husband in the event of the winter storm.

Where do you get take your husband for his injections? An infusion center?

I had to delay my appointment in September after coming down with Covid-19. I rescheduled for a week later.

@naturegirl5 The hospital infusion center could do Friday afternoon, but worse weather is predicted for that day: the dreaded "frozen mix".

@oopsiedaisy Thanks; we might have to do that. We will see what son wants to do about road conditions and driving tomorrow.

@grrranny Stay safe!

I may be wrong but I am guessing that the rigid schedule is for compliance reasons, not medical reasons.

@normahorn
Hubby found out after all the trouble of getting there today that Medicare wouldn't cover his visit until the 30-day point -- 2 days from now! So had to reschedule for next week. 🙁
