I would do just about anything to fly south for a few weeks during the winter. Unfortunately I am not on solid financial ground. Last winter I began practicing as the monks do; with a candle in the darkness, no music, no noise, just one at peace in mind, body and spirit (experiencing the moment–here and now). Like yoga, it replenishes the soul. Thank you for your suggestions. @nativefloridian

Lived in Oklahoma for one year and found the winter to be extremely difficult for me. Had to fly back to Florida with my young son for long weekends several times that year. That was the only thing that replenished my soul when it was 30 below zero windchill factor! Unbelieveable, don’t know how you people live where it is so cold. I would never survive. i think my southern born blood has something to do with it.
