I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia over 15 yrs ago. It has progressivly become more difficult for me to do so many tasks I use to take for granted. I even moved to a cooler climate as the heat made me so terribly sick. It has taken so much from me. Only recently did the PA I see since I don’t have insurance, finally gave me a med that helps with the pain after a friend told me about it. Everything else didn’t fase it. I also have arthritis, hypoglycemia, IBS, memory loss, the dreaded lipomas under the skin, headaches, swelling, aniexty, all the things that go with it I have it. I take over 12 medications per day just to function. I have not worked in three yrs. I have applied for disability, which I probably will not get since they never want to give it to any one in the first place. Now I have found out I have six uterin fibroid tumors that need to be removed. Waiting on a surgery date for that. I use to work two jobs and had three small children at home. I continued to work changing my careers to better suit my disability until my pain became so intense I didn’t even want to live!! The new meds have helped me not have this much pain as long as I don’t over do it. I hate Fibromyalgia! My kids are now grown and I have grandkids and it saddens me that my generations will remember their grandmother as never being able to do certain things with them. I do what I can and most of all I give them my love! Fibro will never take that from me!! I wish the scientific world would find out why this strikes people at the prime of their lives and maybe one day have better meds for us but I am very thankful for the meds we do have as the pain is unbearable! @mare
