I need to get treatment soon.

My family there will 'house' me for the almost 24/7 treatment. I live alone in Seattle.
Seattle SCCA..says the immunotherapy is less likely to work if I wait. Well all our efforts including my Seattle oncologist can not get any response except an appt.SIX WEEKS from now..Any suggestions.

Hi @stanmurray, It can be very distressing hearing that you have cancer and that you need treatment sooner than later. Thank goodness you have the support of your family and their willingness to provide care and housing 24/7.

Stan, what kind of cancer do you have? Are you trying to get an appointment with one of the facilities within the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), but the earliest available appointment is in 6 weeks? Do I have that right?

SCCA would/could start treatment soon but since I live alone……my family in Scottsdale are willing and able to provide the care required.
I have leukemia… " ALL " I think defines it. Treatment that seems to offer hope for a couple of years..blinatumomab. Almost 24/7 'infusion' for a good portion of a month over several months. I am very vague on the details as you can tell..just ring it on!
So it is Scottsdale Mayo that has the long lead to an appointment. My SCCA oncologits is 'shocked' that nothing can be done sooner. I'd think that there must be a shorter path for my known situation.
Thanks for your response, Stan Murray

Thanks for clarifying, Stan. You might ask your SCCA oncologist to contact Mayo Clinic AZ to inquire about the lead time and if anything can be done. It's worth a try.

My oncologist gets no useful response from Mayo.the clock is ticking from my perspective. Thanks, Stan M,

I'm sorry to hear that. If you like, you can call the Oncology department to find out if an earlier appointment or cancelled appointment may be available. Fingers crossed.
