I have polyneuropathy and vertigo (BPPV). Where do I go from here?
Have had dizziness, imbalance, and progressive numbness (from toes to midfoot) for 5+ years. Dizziness was originally diagnosed as UTI, despite no symptoms. But two years ago, diagnoses changed to vertigo (BPPV) AND polyneuropathy (feet and fingers). Current daily treatments--infrared massage and vibration plate for neuropathy; eye and neck exercises plus as-needed Epley maneuvers for vertigo = no relief. Where do I go from here?

Hello @julius1742, Welcome to Connect. Sorry to hear that you haven't found much relief for vertigo (BPPV). @rfherald, @samcal9977zz, and @brandysparks also mentioned the Epley maneuver and may other suggestions or experience that might provide some relief. Has your doctor offered any suggestions that provide some relief?

2 ReactionsI'm dealing with a "double whammy": BPPV and polyneuropathy, both of which have many of the same symptoms. So I'm not always sure which one is active at a given time. Often it's probably both. Doctors say the causes of both are unknown and have no known cure. But I want to make BPPV my priority, as it poses a greater risk of falling (twice so far) and at least a chance of "remission.
