I have numbness in my foot and leg after ACDF sugery. What can I do?
I had ACDF surgery on August 1 2025. I have post surgery numbness on my right foot and leg that is affecting my balance and gait. I use a walker. What do you suggest to regain my balance back and normal gait and to reduce the numbness in my right foot and leg? I have been seeing a Physical Therapist and been actively working out on my own via water exercises, range of motion and strengthening exercises. Thanks.

I think your physical therapy is a good start. I have had 2 lumbar spine surgeries that have left me with the same symptoms. Unfortunately, I am sorry that I had these surgeries because they didn’t help my pain. I’m taking gabapentin for nerve damage, tyzanidine which is a muscle relaxer and Norco for pain. If I didn’t take Norco, I could not live alone. I work with a pain specialist who has tried 10 procedures on my back with no improvement. It’s been 10 years now. I cannot walk long distances or travel like I use to. I am hoping that something new comes out to help me with the pain, numbness and tingling. I guess I can only say that back pain sucks.
