I have been diagnosed with bursitis in my hip and am having an injection composed of lidocaine 2cc, mercaine .25%, 2cc, kenalog 40 1cc, and then local lidocaine 1.5cc and 8.4% sodium bicarbonate .3cc. Has anyone been treated with an injection for bursitis of the hip? What was used? Does anyone know why sodium bicarbonate is being added to my injection? Thank you.
