I don't know how to reduce taking retalin immediate release
Hi everyone,
Following my diagnosis of ADHD, my psychologist prescribed Ritalin (Methylphenidate 10mg) to improve my job performance as a nurse, as I was experiencing significant difficulties with inattention and low motivation. My psychologist advised me to gradually increase the dosage.
However, I independently increased the dose, and I am now experiencing concerning symptoms indicative of addiction. I am finding it challenging to reduce the dose to normal prescriped dose of Ritalin. Could someone with relevant experience please offer assistance?

I never took Ritalin. I was benzodiazapines for years. In 2017 under medical supervision- my neurologist and primary care provider- I was tapped off klonopin. It took 7 months. I would advise consulting with a health care provider about your issue.

1 ReactionYou need to speak with your prescribing provider to obtain support and direction in readjusting your dose. I’m surprised the label on the bottle didn’t provide explicit instructions. If you increased your dose above what was recommended be cautious with more changes until you receive professional advice.
I was prescribed 5 mg to help me focus. Could you try reducing your dose to 5mg with medical supervision? I also only take on a as needed basis. You have very demanding job. I appreciate your dedication to help others. I am struggling with trying to get off Benzodiazepines that I have been taking for 25 years
