I believe tech missed hot spot in bone scan !?!?!?! help

Posted by @jsparks in Bones, Joints & Muscles, Jun 1, 2012

Well been having lots of pain in neck since head on car crash almost a year ago, well mri showed a buldged disk, but I couldn't look up due to pain. After steroid injection pain lowered for couple weeks but now back full bore, but right after injection I had a bone scan and they said it was all ok, well last night I found my cd with the images, and sure enough right at my pain area were these marks that stood out... after researching tonight I leanred they are hot spots, which to me that seems kinda easy to spot since it was RIGHT where I told tech I had pain... Am I missing something?? WHAT to do. I am now medically stationary {same day of bone scan results} and I am just confused, am I getting the shaft or a accident? or am I just way off??? any help would be amazing!!!

Lose of feeling partially down the right arm. You need to have some form of treatment re physio maybe apply heat to the area. Pain can must us feel down within ourselves.Please get it checked with your dr. Let me know how you get along Always here Piglit By the way you can also experience referre pain re the injury

well I was in physical therapy for 3 months 3 days a week, I now Have a cervical traction device and a empi {it has 4 pads to stimulate my muscles with electricity} but heat is also nice but hard to do anything once I stop the home treatments and for example go outside and do chores pain comes right back, and yes stress loves to join in on it, its at my c3 c4 but I just am so tired of fighting the insurance companies, but I have a appointment on the 5 its for a closing examination... workers compensation laws are SOOOOOO screwed up... Maybe my new career needs to be in politics, lol they need people with common sense its seems.

Once you start doing extra work re chores you start to move muscles and yeah you hurt, also stress doesn't hlp us you tend to tense up. Try to relax and keep th heat on, Hopefully on the 5th you may get some answers and belief me i no all about workers comp and they are totally screwed up. I went back to work on worker's comp payments and made literally no income, my dr gave my full clearance to offfload a very messed up system. By the way i think that politics is a definite option, you have alot of common sense, and a great sense of humour see what a difference postivity has achieved.Always here piglit

Hi JS
Request the radiologists verbal report, that's where the most helpful info is and will likely help
let us know?

ok, so sorry for delay, having a real tough time with this whole deal, really wish I didn't overlook this message!! but I will monday morning, anything could help but what might a verbal report include or I guess I am not entirely sure I understand how the process is, I am picturing a autopsy, where they just take notes during exams with tape recorder?? but either way thank you, gives me somewhere to go next!!!

The verbal report J will state the full insight into the damage that you have sustained. If needs be your dr may feel it necessary to re xray to see what's happening know to cause the ongoing pain / Take care Piglit

well I wrote a reply piglit, but after rereading I removed, maybe too much info for public view I will maybe revise or something else but it was SUPER long anyways, kinda went through entire doctor results from all the doctors I have seen. all and all Neurosurgeon knows and see the problem but he wont touch it, he said its too risky...

oh theres more to this story than you can imagine lol my lawyer the PI one not the Workers comp said he just received a 400 page medical records but he still waiting for send reports from the specialists... like I said I got a strong case but that doesn't help the pain go away, lawyers like you to suffer though for as long as possible because there cut just grows... they profit over their "employer" aka ME suffering, but guess not many are like me and in no way do I desire a boat load of cash,
