I am the sole caregiver for my 65 year old husband who is wheelchair bound due to diabetes. He has had a left below knee amputation, and his other foot and leg is supported by a special boot made for him. He can stand to transfer, but cannot walk. He is legally blind due to corneal scratches caused by chronic dry eye. He has been seeing a cornea spescialist at the U of M for the last 4 years. Things don't look good right now--they can't due a cornea transplant until the dry eye problem is corrected. He has had 2 attacks of congestive heart failure also. I am looking for a support group or any kind of support system as I feel quite overwhelmed and alone. I am a retired teacher, but have to continue subbing to pay bills.
