I am now 71 yrs. old. Had rheumatic fever at age 9. Over recent years, it was thought you could not have a recurrence of rheumatic fever. Now I think that opinion is changing. I have recently developed migrating arthritis starting in ankle, moving to knees and now to hips. Over the years I've had strep throat at least 2 times per year. I've had a valve replacement, had ablation done on my AV node and am now pacemaker dependent. Is this a recurrence of the original rheumatic fever or something else. Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms?
