Hume Health Pod
Does this device really provide some what accurate info on par with a Dexa Scan? Sounds dubious to me.

@blueberre, I had never heard of the device so did a little digging for reviews that might be helpful. I do like the idea of a better bathroom scale to track how I'm doing but I'm not sure if it's on par with a Dexa scan.

1 Reaction@blueberre I took a look at the link John provided, and so far it does not appear that this technology is a substitute for a DEXA scan with TBS (trabecular bone score.) Too many factors can affect the accuracy of the measurements, including total weight, muscle mass, level of hydration, machine quality/accuracy, even time of day when you measure.
The accurate way to measure bone density is with dual-energy x-ray technology. Smart scales rely on impedance measurement, sometimes combined with proprietary software to analyze the data.
