Have just been diagnosed w/ Hoshimoto’s Disease. Also have had Epstein-Barr, Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalga. Does any of this ever end?
My 22 yo grandson was dx with Hoshimotos when he was 6. It was a roller coaster of high and low readings before the thyroid finally “died” and now his levels stay level with his med intake. He developed type 1 diabetes at 17 and Addisons disease(of the adrenal glands ) when he was 20. So depending on the age of diagnosis it can just progress into other immune system diseases. But he manages very well with a good medicine schedule. Good luck to you.
Last year I was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis. It was acute with all the classical symptoms of thyrotoxicosis. Prednisone helped temporarily but it relapsed after 3 months and has been with me ever since. Is there no way to stop the body from attacking itself.

Are you taking any thyroid meds? What symptoms do you have?
I have systemic lupus as does my daughter–the mother of the 22 yo (see a familial tendancy?) and there are drugs- metheltrexate, planiquil and others. So far I have avoided these drugs and done well on predinsone. But we live in Texas and use Scott and White a world reknown hospital and they have found nothing to stop the progression of Nick’s diseases. They just treat each destruction with a different med. I even suggested immune rejection drugs like they give after organ transplants but was told no.
