High anxiety level: I'm never sure when I am going to have a BM
My anxiety level is very high. I have curtailed most social activities - even church - because I am never sure when I am going to have a BM. I wear pullups all the time, and check to see where the nearest bathroom is when I do go out. Do any of you take medications for this?

I have similar issues. I feel like I am tethered to my house. If I go to an unfamiliar destination, I immediately get anxiety and feel the need to go to the bathroom. I am constantly looking for a bathroom whenever I am out. I know where every public bathroom in my neighborhood is.

1 ReactionYou have diarrhea then? You said BM. If the former, take Questran.

1 ReactionI sorry to see that you folks have some pretty bad bowel issues. I have a chronic history of being hospitalized for small bowel obstructions. My bowels have been a constant problem for me since having radiation treatment for prostate cancer in October 2024. The radiation damaged my bowels. So now I have to worry about if I'm going to have a bowel accident no matter where I am.
I can't take Imodium AD. The doctors say it will cause more problems. I hope everyone can find some help.
I've talked to three different dieticians at three different hospitals and different doctors at the hospitals I go to. They all say pretty much the same thing. A soft food diet. No uncooked veggies or raw fruit. I can't have most everything I like. It's frustrating and depressing.
