Cuffs enflate causing incredible pain. Give high, inaccurate readings and cause broken vessels in the skin, A post polio patient should
refuse to allow the use of this new equipment! The bicep muscle is still painful and has not returned to normal function in four weeks.

This is a subject I am very interested in. My wife (74 years old) suffers from high blood pressure. Recent weight loss over the last three years has left her with flabby upper arms, Automatic blood pressure cuffs used in Hospitals and Doctor's offices, cause her severe pain and significant bruising. Not all medical personnel will agree to use a larger cuff using the argument that inaccurate readings will result. Are they right and, if not, what argument(s) can I use to alleviate my wife's problem with this pain? Thanks in advance. ...Tom
