Hi, I work for Mayo as a nurse and also have degenerative disk diease as well as stenosis. Two years ago was my first flare-up and I ended up having three cortisone injections. One month ago my back acted up again and the process is slow to recover. I don’t think mine is anywhere as bad as yours but I would be very cautious about surgery. I think we all hope it would be a cure all but my brother-in-law was injured as a police officer at the age of 32 and has had three sugeries. He had to retire eventually. From my understanding if you fuse a vertabrae it can then put pressure and strain on possible healthy verabrae above and below it. I just wonder if it is just a slippery slope to more possible surgeries. You look very young and I don’t know your whole situation but I would get all the information you can first. Mayo is a great place to come though. I believe you will get the best care. Good Luck @sageacton
