Hi Beth.I just want to comment because you and I have a few things in common. I’ve been fighting for my life back from pain for awhile but it was mild compared to what I’ve been thru since August. I basically had to help the professionals diagnose me by doing so much research every single night and bugging them till they got sick of me. I persisted and continued to look at anatomy pics to figure out how and where the pain is affecting my hip because it wasn’t the normal low back pain. It was so intense that I couldn’t drive my car for more than a few minutes, sit for more than 15min and the only position that brought relief was lying flat. I lost my appetite, was put on a pain patch and finally got some answers. So now I am being treated for three different issues. S.I. joint, Pelvic Floor Myofascial syndrome and a nerve that runs thru all sending shock waves of nerve pain into my bottom.
So you will likely be best served by continuing the PT but ask for a Pelvic Floor PT, (this is a specialty that not all PT’s know how to do). You should tell your doc that having S.I.Joint injections under Fluroscopy (sp) specifically for Diagnostic purposes. This usually requires 2x. If it relieves your pain even for a few days that is part of the problem. The other part could be that you’re pelvic floor muscles are in spasm and creating referred pain down your butt into the thigh and hip or any other area. I was amzed at how messed up my body was from old injuries and making bad choices when accepting work. I can no longer work. For me…this will be a long road that I have only just begun and I’ve been working on it since August. I empathize with you. I am bored out of my mind at home and yet my good hours (11-3) are still filled with discomfort or pain depending on the day. People see that I’ve pulled away and it’s because when you do try to explain it to them they look at you like you’re speaking a foreign language. That’s why this forum is so good for us. We will somehow find compassion here where we can’t find it elsewhere. Hang in there and write to me if you would like. @bethciowa

Hi, thank you for your reply. I’m currently back down with low back pain…. frustrated that nobody can give me a diagnosis ….. I’ve been told I have ao many different things, I don’t know what to think. This time my pain is on the left side of my low back, it was always on the right before…. I can’t sit for more than 60 seconds…. I had another MRI yesterday July 16 ……. waiting for results… Blessings to you….
