Hep C

Posted by @sharon1970, Apr 5, 2012

I have had Hep C since 1970 and have received many different opinions on as many treatments. Recently I went through a TIPS II procedure. Has anyone had that procedure? Do you find Hep C to be very misunderstood in the public forum as well as the medical community?

My husband has had hep c since the 80’s. His has now developed into hepaticellur carcanomia. prognoses not good. He was in a trail in the 90’s, interfernon and ribriviron. Was on that for 6 months, didnt cure him, but they are finding now putting people on interfernon for 8 months to a year 80 percent are cured. I haven’t heard of the tips ll

I wondered about the 50 percent success rate when i was first told about interferon and ribriviron. I did not take the treatment due to the side effect of depression coupled with the percentile ratio. Did your husband apply and receive SSDI ?

He was put of one of the first clinicle trails in Nova Scotia. So no cost to us. My husband did not exoerience the depression side effect. Once in a while he had flu like systoms. Mostly cold chills once in a while. over all really good. took place in 1997
