Help getting an appointment

Hello all- I know many of you have been to Mayo, and many like myself who have been trying. My doctor has been trying for 2.5 years to get me into Mayo Clinic. I have had pelvic/abdominal pain since Jan of 2020. I had an unnecessary hysterectomy, a ovary/cyst removal months after, 2 colonoscopies, more CT scans, ultrasounds then I can remember, 2 MRI’s and PT for 2.5 years. My blood work continues to get worse and the best guess is maybe something nerve related. I’ve seen 2 pain doctors & now being sent to a 3rd. Doctors can’t treat me because this don’t know what is going on, and they have no way to diagnose nerve pain. I will add that I had an illiioiguinal nerve block with no success.
I was referred to 4 or 5 different areas at Mayo and once again was told you can receive quality care closer to home. If that was the case they wouldn’t be referring me. Any tips or ideas besides marrying someone that works there? I mean seriously I know people that have been seen for a sore shoulder because her husband was a patient. It makes no sense. I’m angry & frustrated.

A lot has to do with who is your insurance with. Mayo is known for their cost of care in a lot of cases. ( only place I’ve seen that had a actual Rolls-Royce out front on one occasion) I live maybe 10 minutes from one and I can’t go there lol. I understand your frustration but for MDs, abdominal issues are sometimes the hardest diagnosis to find. Hang in there and know things will get better……David
