Help for Dried Out Nose on High Flow O2

How high is the oxy flow ?

10-12 liters. Was on 6 liters for 2 years with minimal issues. After a hospitalization in November, flow had to be increased as I also have Pulmonary Hypertension.

I also have been on high flow oxygen on 5 but i have got f down to 4 liters. I had the same issue as you noise so dry if I put my finger in it I may not get it back, as I did some research, I was using saline nasal spray which has alcohol in it so that in itself dries your nose out more. I quit sit it, got simply salable no alcohol. I spray that in each nasal thing I take a qtip and put a snake fingernail size of ayr gel just around the inside of the nose. It has helped me a lot. Hope it works for you.

Thanks for your reply. I use Ayr Saline Nasal Spray which doesn't show to have any alcohol. What kind do you use? I find the Ayr gel dries out in my nose.

I use Cann-Ease nasal moisturizer. I found this worked much better for me than Ayr. I use a qtip to apply it to the inside of my nose. I order it online from Direct Home Medical but it is available from Amazon and other online retailers. I also use Arm & Hammer Simply Saline Nasal Mist prior to the Cann-Ease. I am on 4 to 5 lpm. Hope you find something that works better for you.

I am sure it is . A cannula is made to use up to 6 litres pm. It is usually replaced with at the least a mask over mouth and nose . There are a half dozen other methods to bring relief from a small hose blowing at that rate in your nose . If your pulmonologist can’t recommend something .. Go on an AI connection and ask and listen to some of these ideas. Then suggest a few to your doctor . Your situation needs to be improved . CRYSTALENA

@rmdmichigan Hi. I have read that Vaseline should not be used concerning oxygen use.

Try hyaluronic acid mist for dry nose (Amazon). It works for me. Ive got the same problem.
