Hello, my Name is Yvonne and my husband is suffering from radiation enteritis (irritable bowel) from 6 weeks of radiation targeted at the post prostatectomy nodule reoccurrence last year. Beside the Levsin and low dose Lortab, are there any other med or non-medication therapies available? We are avoiding food triggers recently discovered. Looking for help............

Hi Yvonne,

I'm sorry to hear what your husband is going through. Radiation enteritis is often temporary, but there are a few treatment options that your husband could discuss with his doctor - you can find them here: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/radiation-enteritis/care-at-mayo-clinic/treatment/con-20036540

We can't make specific treatment recommendations online, but if you live near any of the Mayo Clinic locations, please feel free to reach out to one of our appointment offices (Arizona: 800-446-2279 | Florida: 904-953-0853 | Minnesota: 507-538-3270). Let us know if you have any other questions!
